We believe that all people, of all languages should have the opportunity to hear the message of Jesus.
Activity
- Identify people in your group or congregation who speak a language other than English.
- Ask them to share the Lord’s prayer in that language.
- If there are many people who speak other languages, pray a line each.
Below is the Lord’s prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) in Ciyawo (spoken in Malawi and Mozambique).
9 ‘Atati wetu wa kwinani:
Lina lyawo licimbicikwe.
10 Ucimwene wawo uyice;
kusosa kwawo kutendecekwe,
pa cilambo capasi mpela kwinani.
11 Atupe uwe lelo yakulya yetu ya lelo.
12 Atukululucile uwe yakulemwa yetu,
mpela uweji soni mutukwakululucila wane wakutulemwecesya.
