Walk the World
Pray for the world, as you walk your world!
What is Walk the World?
Walk the World is an interactive prayer event where churches, families and individuals get out into their neighbourhood and pray. We pray for our communities and we pray for our beautiful, yet broken world. Simply, Walk the World is about setting time aside to pray for God to be at work within your community, across the world and through Baptist Mission Australia intercultural teams.
On this page, you’ll find resources and creative prayer ideas to engage all ages.

Happy snaps
We love seeing how you and your church get involved! Here are some photos from over the years.
It was wonderful for our church to see people of all ages getting out in the community and praying that God would be at work both here and all around the world.
It was truly a blessing. It is a great way to get to know each other as we pray.
I spent time at home praying for my community, intercultural team members and the people they minister to.
We walked the world with friends in Siem Reap province. We helped the rice farmer to remove the grains. We walked, prayed and shared food with friends.
We really enjoyed this opportunity to do Walk the World. We prayed for God’s love to be made known locally and around our world. We’d be keen to do this again next year.
A small group from Ballarat North Baptist walked around Lake Wendouree. There was plenty of praise and thanksgiving to God also. Thank you for a great initiative.
Thanks for organising this! We used the creative prayer activities. Our kids loved it (and so did the big ‘kids’!) It was a helpful tool to help us to pray.
My daughter and I and our two dogs walked around some of the streets in our community. It was really fun and we can’t wait to do it again and hope to have a bigger group next year.
I love the Walk the World initiative and want to thank Baptist Mission Australia for this opportunity.

Frequently asked questions
Walk the World is for everyone, of all abilities, ages and group size. Some resources will be targeted towards adults and others to children, families or youth.
Going for a walk is a great way to experience our local communities. It helps us get to know the area and our neighbours. Plus, it’s something that a lot of us already do! Walk the World is an invitation to intentionally pray for the world while you walk in your world.
But, of course, you don’t have to walk to get involved with Walk the World.
You can choose to get around your neighbourhood however you like. You could run, cycle, wheel, skateboard, push, drive, scoot, rollerblade or skip around your area. You could even virtually walk around via Google maps, video or your imagination!
If 7-9 November doesn’t work for you or your church’s calendar, that is ok! You can hold Walk the World whenever it works with you. The resources will remain available online and ready for you when you want them.
However, if you can Walk the World over 7-9 November, we encourage to get involved then. Knowing others around the country and world are praying for the world, and engaging with their community at the same time will spur us all on!
