May is here and Baptist Mission Australia is excited to be engaging with churches across our national Baptist movement as we celebrate May Mission Month.

This special time in our organisation’s annual calendar focuses attention on what God’s Spirit is doing across the world through our teams and ministry partners. It’s also a powerful reminder of what we can do together as Australian Baptists as we collaborate and do things that we couldn’t do alone.

Partnership has been at the heart of the Baptist Mission Australia faith story for 150 years, and as I move around the country each May in my role, I am struck afresh by how important our partnerships are – and how deeply engaged our supporters are in our shared ministries.

For me, May Mission Month is a reminder that as Australian Baptists we are at our best when we are united on mission –– joining our restoring God in local communities across the street and across the world.

As valued Baptist Mission Australia partners, can I encourage you to see the valuable ambassador role you can play this May. Please join us as we seize the opportunities this month presents to raise global mission awareness, pray, and support our ministries around the world and in Australia.

Here’s some practical ways you can be actively engaged this May:

2. Talking sharing, please share about May Mission Month and our great More Like Jesus 2025 theme resources on your social media channels.
3. Please join us in prayer. You might like to join team members in praying for May Mission Month each day in May.
4. Can I invite you to prayerfully consider financially supporting one of our May Mission Month projects or team members. You can find out more here >>
5. There are great videos you can use in your services, small groups, mission teams and share with others in your church community here >>
6. You might like to specifically focus your prayers this month on one of the locations we serve in. Pray for local communities there, along with our team members or ministry partners serving in that location. Find our locations here >>

That’s our prayer … that’s our theme this May, that’s at the heart our compelling vision – more people living, loving and leading like Jesus.

More people joining with God in His restorative work across the street and across the world. More people experiencing and expressing the transforming love and hope of Jesus. More followers of Jesus sharing their faith in relevant and authentic ways. More faith communities reaching out to share God’s love through word and deed.

That’s what our neighbourhoods and world need… more people more like Jesus.

Let’s join together in partnership this May and seize the opportunities that May Mission Month brings and see what God can and will do across our churches, mission community and the places we serve.
