The B people of South Asia are one of the largest ethnic groups in the world. There are very few known B followers of Jesus but they are in need of easy-to-access, secure Bible resources.
For B people, their Muslim faith is central to their identity, making it a difficult environment to both share the Gospel and establish a believing community. The aim of this project is to share the Word of God in a way that people can understand and to develop teaching materials and resources that support existing believers to grow in their faith.
The Sharing the Good News project has been operating in its current iteration for the past few years. The project seeks to place the newest appropriate version of the Scripture, Old and New Testament, on both a website and an app. This ensures it is much more accessible and discrete than physical Bibles.
As a part of Sharing the Good News project, written, video and audio discipleship materials will also be produced and distributed to B believers. This will be facilitated through the establishment of a dedicated studio, which will be set up in a secure location. From this location, Bible studies and discipleship training courses are run – currently online to minimise the risk for local seekers and believers.
Through the resources and programs developed through this project, we want to see the Word of God shared with a vast number of B people in South Asia and further afield as well as provide in-depth discipleship to the believing community, within their cultural context.
Financial partnership with Sharing the Good News continues to assist in the development of biblical training resources. In addition to individual use, these resources will also be used as part of Bible study intensives that are held with believers online and one day we hope in a dedicated and secure classroom. These intensives also facilitate reconnection with existing members of the believing community.
Thank you for your partnership with this important project that gets the Word of God in the hands of B believers!
