Team Building Maintenance

In order to facilitate this involvement, Baptist Mission Australia has accommodation in three of the communities: Yuendumu, Lajamanu and Kalkarindji. The properties are aging and need maintenance. However the remoteness of the contexts and the lack of local tradespeople make it costly and challenging to get work done. There are also security and safety issues with the buildings. Most of the team only live in community part time, which makes it difficult to maintain properties and the increasing maintenance issues have become a distraction and frustration, taking them away from valuable community time.
Hearing this need, a few churches have come alongside the team practically and are sending volunteers a couple times a year from their churches. These volunteers are giving their time and expertise as qualified builders, electricians and plumbers with a heart to serve.
The costs of this project includes building and maintenance supplies, as well as the cost of travel to get to the remote communities. Will you support the team financially through this project, sending volunteer tradie teams to these communities over the next couple of years?
