Walk the World
6-8 Nov 2026
Pray for the world, as you walk your world!
Prayer can be fun!
Use Walk the World to connect as a church community and engage all ages in creative prayer activities. How? Go on a prayer walk picnic, enjoy a global meal and pray for the world, challenge yourselves with a walkathon… However you Walk the World, pray for God’s loving work in your neighbourhood and around the world.
This year, Walk the World is taking place over the weekend of 6-8 November. However feel free to hold Walk the World when it works best for your church calendar.
Prayer Walk Guide
Use this guide for a community building prayer activity for the whole church. Head out on a prayer walk, then gather in a local park for a picnic or BBQ.
This guide includes prayer prompts for your church and community, Australia and the world.
It’s a great Walk the World starting point and can be adapted for individuals or any group size.
Creative Prayer Ideas
Each Creative Prayer Idea is a single activity designed to engage you in prayer for your community and the world in a new way. Adapt for your group and context.
Pray around the world as you lift up each of our ministry locations. This activity is ideal for adults. It can be done in small groups or via up-front prayer during a Sunday service.
Get kids praying and being active together and with this fun activity. This is a perfect activity to run at the start or end of a kids church session.
Step out into your neighbourhood as you prayer walk with your church or group, then enjoy a picnic together in a local park.
Enjoy a delicious South Asian meal and pray for South Asia. This activity is ideal for small groups and families.
Get together with your kids church, small group, youth group or church and raise money for God’s work around the world while walking and praying.
Photo Competition
Share how you and your group walked the world by entering our photo competition. You can share photos, videos or artworks. Get creative and have fun with it!
This competition is open to any age, and you can work in a group or by yourself. Enter by Friday 20 November to be in the chance to win one of the prizes.

I spent time at home praying for my community, intercultural team members and the people they minister to.
It was wonderful for our church to see people of all ages getting out in the community and praying that God would be at work both here and all around the world.
My daughter and I and our two dogs walked around some of the streets in our community. It was really fun and we can’t wait to do it again and hope to have a bigger group next year.
We really enjoyed this opportunity to do Walk the World. We prayed for God’s love to be made known locally and around our world. We’d be keen to do this again next year.
A small group from Ballarat North Baptist walked around Lake Wendouree. There was plenty of praise and thanksgiving to God also. Thank you for a great initiative.

Frequently asked questions
Walk the World is for everyone, of all abilities, ages and group size. Some resources will be targeted towards adults and others to children, families or youth.
Going for a walk is a great way to experience our local communities. It helps us get to know the area and our neighbours. Plus, it’s something that a lot of us already do! Walk the World is an invitation to intentionally pray for the world while you walk in your world.
But, of course, you don’t have to walk to get involved with Walk the World.
You can choose to get around your neighbourhood however you like. You could run, cycle, wheel, skateboard, push, drive, scoot, rollerblade or skip around your area. You could even virtually walk around via Google maps, video or your imagination!
If 7-9 November doesn’t work for you or your church’s calendar, that is ok! You can hold Walk the World whenever it works with you. The resources will remain available online and ready for you when you want them.
However, if you can Walk the World over 7-9 November, we encourage to get involved then. Knowing others around the country and world are praying for the world, and engaging with their community at the same time will spur us all on!
