Myanmar & border areas

Vulnerable, displaced people in Myanmar and on the Thai and Indian borders face many challenges. Baptist Mission Australia is partnering with Sharing Hope, Kachin Baptist Convention and the Baptist Church of Mizoram in the provision of humanitarian relief, support to people in refugee camps, education, trauma training and the development of emerging leaders. In this support we also stand alongside Burmese Baptist faith communities across Australia.

Vulnerable, displaced people in Myanmar and on the Thai and Indian borders face many challenges.

Baptist Mission Australia is joining with ministry partners working in Myanmar and in border refugee camps to respond to the significant humanitarian and education needs. Millions of people have been displaced since the military junta coup in 2021, fleeing from aerial bombings and violence targeting villages, churches and schools in ethnic minority communities.

Through our passionate partners, we are standing alongside hurting people, enabling children to get an education, helping pastors be equipped with trauma skills and supporting a new generation of leaders be equipped for mission. We are privileged to stand with Burmese Baptist communities in Australia through this work.
