Liz and Glenn enjoy spending time getting to know the locals in their small farming community.
One of the ways they serve the community is through teaching English as another language. During their time as teachers in the local school, Glenn and Liz are often asked by their local friends to tutor their children in English. English proficiency is seen as very advantageous for future employability in Thailand.
In early 2022, Glenn and Liz launched the ministry Baan Sawang – House of Light, English Language Centre (ELC), including a highly subsidised English program for students aged 5-15 years old. It also provides a safe space for these children to play and be encouraged.
While teaching English is the main purpose of the ministry, Glenn and Liz are excited to use this platform to build deeper relationships with the families in their area. Sharing their lives with their local friends is key part of their work in Thailand. It is through these connections that they share the greatest gift of all; God’s love shown through Jesus. They are excited to see an emergence of vibrant faith communities following Jesus in their own distinctive ways in Northern Thailand.
