In Vietnam we serve alongside our local partner, Company of Grace, in raising hope, dignity and opportunity for people living with disabilities, as well as breaking down stigmas associated with disability. Participants are provided with employment and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the local community. We’re also working together to build community connections through English teaching, kids activities and a mums group.
This is a long term initiative with a long term impact. Company of Grace was founded in 2007 by Hoa (Peter), with a vision to equip young people with disability with the skills they need to be able to live independently.
This led to a vocational training centre being formed to train people with disability in teaching, business management, English, baking and more. Now there are also English classes held in the evening for around 150 children from the local community, taught by people with disabilities. In Vietnam, it is rare for able bodied children to be taught by teachers with disabilities, so these classes are transformative for the teachers, the students and the students parents.
Through this ministry, people with disabilities are experiencing new opportunities and writing a new story for their lives. Our team journeys alongside these young people, building relationships and sharing life together.
