The Scriptures speak of seasons – physical seasons and seasons of life and ministry. In serving Jesus we also experience God’s gracious gift of seasons, as we celebrate the opportunity to work alongside others for Kingdom purpose.

It has been my privilege to serve alongside our Associate Executive Director Susan Campbell for the past 6.5 years on the Leadership Team at Baptist Mission Australia. Suse has served with distinction in our mission community for 22 years – a highly significant season of ministry and one that has positively impacted so many lives across the globe and in Australia.

Suse will conclude her role with Baptist Mission Australia on 2nd December. Suse and I have been conversing about this possibility for several months as she has engaged in a very healthy and intentional discernment process. While I am deeply sad that Suse will be concluding, I am also very excited for her, as she steps out in faith to seek new career opportunities after giving so much to our mission community.

Over more than two decades Suse has enriched the lives of so many people across our organisation and broader Baptist movement in Australia and across the globe. She has also played a key role in shaping organisational strategy and culture and has been pivotal in helping shape our Future Directions vision.

Most of all Suse has modelled the ways of Jesus, living our values and curating our culture.

From 2005 to 2009 Suse served as our National Young Adult Consultant. From 2010 to 2020 Suse held a range of project roles, while also serving as Partnership Development Director and Learning & Organisational Development Director. From 2020 she has served with excellence as our Associate Executive Director.

Suse writes: It’s been quite a journey to finally arrive at a decision to conclude my time in this role. I continue to love and champion our organisation’s work together and I am deeply engaged and continually learning in my role. Yet I sense it’s time to close this long and incredible chapter and begin something new. I don’t yet know what 2027 and beyond will hold and will appreciate your prayer for this.
