Leaving a legacy that matters

Can I tell you about a gift anyone can make which will help more people know Jesus?

It’s a gift which won’t cost you anything during your lifetime. And a gift which means you’ll leave a legacy of people meeting Jesus.

Recently Jean Keene passed away, but she is continuing to make a Kingdom impact. This is because Jean left a compassionate gift in her will.

Jean’s faith meant a lot to her. Her faith was central to her life and her Bible was well underlined. She wanted to share her faith with others. When asked about Jesus she would articulate her faith in a heartfelt way.

I recently had the opportunity to hear about Jean through a friend of hers. One story that stuck out was about a time they went out for coffee. They were sitting in a shopping centre and it was very crowded so another customer asked to join them at their table.

Jean ended up sharing with this man what Jesus had done for her. Her friend then led the man to Christ. Jean was compassionate towards him. She wanted him to experience God’s forgiveness, as she had.

But Jean’s compassion went beyond people she met. Like you, Jean had a heart for all people to know Jesus. Even those she had never met. This love for people led Jean to leave a gift in her will. Her gift means there will be more vibrant faith communities following Jesus in their own distinctive ways.

I am inspired by Jean’s heart to share God’s love with the world, even after her passing. I recently set up my will for the first time and decided to include Baptist Mission Australia* in it. It was important to me to know that the legacy I leave is one of Kingdom significance. Can I encourage you to consider doing the same?

A gift in your will can help more people meet Jesus. Your loving gift in will helps communities meet Jesus in their own distinctive ways. To discover what it means to hear God’s Word, pray together, and know God’s forgiveness.

It can be a gift of any size. Even 1% of your estate helps fulfil the great commission Jesus gave us. Faithful Australians like you have helped tens of thousands meet Jesus. Putting a gift in your will won’t cost you anything now, but it will have an eternal impact.

Baptist Mission Australia is a trusted partner of the Baptist movement in Australia and is independently audited and accredited. So you can give, knowing that your faithfulness will help more people know Jesus.
