Through the lens of exploring Mark 1:16-20, Mel also shares from her experiences of moving to the Silk Road and seeking to build meaningful friendships in another language and culture. And Jivan speaks about his journey from Nepal to Sydney to Hobart, and the inspiring work of Hobart Nepali church in reaching out in love to the growing Nepalese community of their city.
In this second episode of the More Like Jesus series, we hear from Ngoc and Mark who serve with Baptist Mission Australia in Vietnam.
Through their conversion with host Susan, Mark and Ngoc share insightful and honest reflections on what ‘doing the works of Jesus’ means for them in their day to day life. They share stores from their work with our mission partner who train, employ and empower people with disabilities. They also explore Jesus’ example of discipleship and reflect on the power of love.
Our guests for this third episode of the More Like Jesus series are Eliza and Darren. Eliza serves with David and their children in the Silk Road Area, and Darren is a Pastor at the their sending church and long-term family friend.
Throughout their conversation, Eliza and Darren reflect on their leadership journeys, the people who encouraged them to step out and how they are intentionally investing in emerging leaders. Eliza also shares from her experiences navigating the cultural dynamics of leading in the Silk Road Area. And together, they explore Mark 3:13-19 and draw out lessons from Jesus’ model of leadership
For the fourth and final episode of the More Like Jesus series, we hear from Arthur, Josie and Robyn. Josie and Arthur are passionate team members of our South Asia team, and Robyn is the wonderful mission rep of Wonthaggi Baptist Church – one of Arthur and Josie’s faithful partner churches.
Together with host Susan Campbell, the trio explore the idea of partnership in God’s mission, sending and being sent, prayer and Jesus’ model of collaboration. Arthur and Josie share encouraging stories from their ministry and reflect on our team’s journey with our partner NGO in South Asia, and how this partnership has evolved over the decades.
