Together with Baptists around the world, we are helping believers in Timor-Leste build ministry spaces so they can better reach out to their community.

The Baptist Foundation of Timor-Leste owns land in a strategic location of Dili and has a heart to come alongside and serve their neighbours through opening a ministry and community centre. The initial building stage has been extended due to the increased cost of building resources in the current global climate.

Baptist Mission Australia is partnering with the Baptist Foundation of Timor-Leste to contribute towards the first stage of construction on this Baptist property. The funds will go towards building costs for a pastor’s home and meeting space for the Baptist Church with the goal of completion set for the end of 2026!

Over the next few years, with the help of additional partners, the Baptist Foundation will construct more shelter on the land to offer outreach opportunities which include education and health services within the university district. There are significant opportunities to support students and families in this extended neighbourhood but the buildings are needed to be able to do this.

Through the generosity of Australian Baptist and Baptists around the world, we have the opportunity to support sisters and brothers in Christ in Timor-Leste to make their dreams and plans for community outreach possible. This starts with building a home and meeting space for the local Baptist church. Baptist Mission Australia’s contribution is part of a bigger budget.

This project will help support the Baptist Foundation in Timor-Leste to build on their land, offer a church space to share the good news of Jesus, and provide practical support in education and healthcare in their district.
