Partnering with local churches to raise a new generation of intercultural mission workers.
Baptist Mission Australia invites passionate, emerging leaders to apply for the Mission Apprentice Program (MAP) within our Australian Intercultural Team (AIT). This 1–2 year pathway provides a structured opportunity to discern your calling while gaining hands-on experience in intercultural mission across Australia and beyond.
The AIT brings together long-standing ministry alongside First Nations communities and growing engagement with culturally diverse communities in urban and regional Australia. As our nation becomes increasingly multicultural, we are committed to working closely with churches and ministry partners to share Jesus in creative, contextually relevant ways.
As a Mission Apprentice, you will:
- Serve in a real ministry context with clear formation and development goals
- Have the opportunity to visit one of teams globally
- Receive intentional supervision, mentoring and mission coaching
- Grow in cultural intelligence, leadership and intercultural mission practice
- Engage in mission discernment processes
- Support the equipping and mobilisation of churches for intercultural mission
This program is ideal for individuals with strong potential, a heart for mission and a desire to explore intercultural ministry in Australia or around the world. MAP provides a supportive environment for growth, assessment, and discernment as you consider future mission pathways.
Participants receive a $5,000 seed grant, with the expectation that this will be matched through partnership with a local church, reflecting a shared commitment to formation and mission.
