English Language Teacher

Baptist Mission Australia is seeking English Language Teachers to serve in the Silk Road Area. The Silk Road team is currently running an English teaching program for a diverse range of students, from primary aged children through to adults.

The students have different motivations for learning English. Some see it is a way to enhance their employability, some want to help their children, while others just want to be able to watch English language movies.

In recent times the demand for classes has exceeded the team’s capacity for offering them. We are looking for people to join our English teaching team who love Jesus, are passionate about teaching and enthusiastic about serving holistically amongst the K people of the Silk Road.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver English lessons for a diverse range of students
  • Organise and get involved in social and cultural activities
  • Willingness to use a variety of teaching strategies to engage all students
  • Undertake administrative tasks including resource management and student attendance records
  • A commitment to study the language of the K people to enhance your ability to communicate and empathise with your students and the broader community
  • Facilitate group discussion, analyse situations, and draw conclusions

Qualifications:

  • TEFL qualification or diploma.
  • Some practical teaching experience.
