Baptist Mission Australia invites you to join our Outback team in a unique, long-term mission opportunity focused on empowering local Indigenous believers.
We are seeking dedicated individuals or couples to join our team in Outback Australia. This role will focus on discipleship and leadership development, walking alongside Indigenous brothers and sisters to nurture their spiritual growth and leadership capacity. You will have the privilege of building deep, trusting relationships, and supporting local leaders as they grow in their faith and impact within their communities.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and facilitate culturally sensitive discipleship programs
- Partner with Indigenous leaders to support leadership development initiatives
- Engage in a ministry of presence, listening and learning from the community
- Collaborate with a multi-generational, intercultural team
- Serve in remote communities, demonstrating flexibility and resilience
What we’re looking for:
- A commitment to humble, sensitive, and culturally respectful ministry
- A passion for discipleship and nurturing spiritual growth in others
- The ability to build genuine, trusting relationships within Indigenous communities
- A willingness to learn from and serve alongside Indigenous leaders
- Experience in remote intercultural ministry (preferred, but not essential)
