Pat and Joy share a story of faith in the face of challenge.
"Cathi* is a local friend of ours and a follower of Jesus. A little while ago, Cathi let Joy know that she would like to regularly get together to read the Bible to help her grow in her understanding. Now, Cathi and Joy are meeting regularly to explore God's Word, pray together and discern how God is leading them to serve the community. It truly is a blessing and a privilege to walk alongside Cathi and her family.
Four years ago, Cathi and her family needed to leave their community because of issues that arose due to them being followers of Jesus. But earlier this month, Cathi returned to her old community to visit her niece who was recovering from a stroke.
She didn't know what to expect in going back. And so she was very surprised by the welcome she received by her older and younger brother! Cathi feels that their hearts are softening. She told us how her older brother shared deeply with her about the sadness and loneliness he feels, and that wants her to visit them more. Pray with us for Cathi's extended family.
When they meet together, Joy is constantly inspired by Cathi's hunger to know God's Word and understand it better, so that she can share with others. Give thanks for Cathi's strength of faith as she navigates complex community, cultural and family pressures.
