Training courses are run throughout the year for team members in preparation, intercultural team members, students and other interested participants. Courses include:
Exploring Mission
The Exploring Mission course is a 5-unit pathway engaging key areas of theology, mission, context, culture and the Gospel. Exploring Mission is about discipleship. It is a course designed to connect you to God’s global vision, and to help you find your place in it. Everybody has a role in this story.
Growing Participation Workshop
This course offers you the knowledge, skills and awareness to begin the process of engaging interculturally with people in a fruitful and dynamic way.
Discernment Days / Weekends
Together we focus on how we understand our calling, the highs and lows of life as an intercultural team member and the mission and vision of Baptist Mission Australia. You will discuss, ask questions, reflect and share hopes and fears with others on a similar journey.

Intercultural Practices Courses
There are two courses which are both conducted by Whitley College, in partnership with Baptist Mission Australia:
- Missio Dei in Context Examine mission from the perspective of the Missio Dei with a particular emphasis on biblical foundations for mission. Examine how theology, mission history, and cultural studies have informed modern mission theory and practice. Held on Thursdays, 9.30am-12.30pm, 24 Feb – 26 May
- World Christianity as Missio Dei Examine emerging trends in world Christianity and how missiology is adapting to the sweeping changes ushered in by urbanisation and globalisation. Held on Thursdays, 9.30am-12.30pm, 28 July – 27 Oct

Pre-service Webinars
Monthly webinars are an opportunity to learn from practitioners and thinkers, connect with intercultural team member
s and build the Baptist Mission Australia
community. All webinars are 7.30pm-9pm AEST.
Transition Training
A 5-day, residential course facilitated by Missions Interlink. The course provides practical experience in many of the skills necessary for making an effective transition to another culture. 10-15 January and 27 June - 2 July, Melbourne

Partnership Development Course
This course runs as two-hour sessions over six weeks. It will help you develop a partnership team with churches and individuals. It includes understanding the Australian Baptist context, learning about resources, tools and processes, as well as attending to the emotional and spiritual journey of partnership development.
MAST security training
Missions Interlink conducts regular advanced security training courses in partnership with Sanctuary International. MAST is a two-day program designed to assist intercultural team member
s to be safe and smart in how they approach daily life.
