FAQs
What is Walk the World all about?
Walk the World is about facilitating an opportunity for Australian Baptists to get out in our neighbourhoods and pray! Pray for the local communities God has placed us in, and pray for the communities around the world our intercultural teams are placed in.
There are prayer resources for all ages so you and your whole church are equipped to get involved.
Do I have to do it on 8-10 Nov?
If 8-10 Novemeber doesn't work for you or your church's calendar, that's ok! You can hold Walk the World whenever it works with you. The resources will remain available online and ready for you when you want them.
However, if you can Walk the World over 8-10 November, we encourage to get involved then. Knowing others around the country and world are praying for the world, and engaging with their community at the same time will spur us all on!
What's the 'Walk' Part?
Going for a walk is a great way to experience our local communities. It helps us get to know the area and our neighbours. Plus, it's something that a lot of us already do! Walk the World is an invitation to intentionally pray for the world while you walk in your world.
But, of course, you don't have to walk to get involved with Walk the World.
You can choose to get around your neighbourhood however you like. You could run, cycle, drive, wheel, skateboard, push, drive, scoot, rollerblade or skip around your area. You could even virtually walk around via Google maps, video or your imagination!
Who is Walk the World for?
Walk the World is for everyone, of all abilities, ages and group size. Some resources will be targeted towards adults and others to children, families or youth.
Is it a competition?
No... but there are some prizes up for grabs!
We are taking Walk the World as an opportunity to say thank you and invest back into church communities through some prizes. There are prizes for two churches and one individual.
Head to the 'How to Win a Prize' dropdown for more information.
Your partnership with our teams is opening doors for the Gospel to be shared. We can truly only to do this together! Please take these prizes as a gesture of our appreciation for you and your church's partnership in mission.

Recap: 2023 Walk the World
2023 was a great second year of Walk the World - there were churches registered from every state and territory. It was a fun, community-building, Spirit-seeking, prayer-filled event. And we are so excited for Walk the World 2024!
Here's a recap of what happened during last year's Walk the World:
What did people say about it?
“We really enjoyed this opportunity to do Walk the World. We prayed for God’s love to be made known locally and around our world. We’d be keen to do this again in 2024.” - Belinda, ACT
“A small group from Ballarat North Baptist walked around Lake Wendouree. There was plenty of praise and thanksgiving to God also. Thank you for a great initiative.” - Ange, VIC
“Thanks for organising this! We used the Scavenger Hunt and Litter Collection prayer activities. Our kids loved it (and so did the big ‘kids’!) It was a helpful tool to help us to pray.” - Dan, WA
“My daughter and I and our 2 dogs walked around some of the streets in our community. We have never done anything like it before and it was so much fun. We can’t wait to do it again and hope to have a bigger group next year.” - Lorraine, NSW
