The Basics
What is Exploring Mission?
Exploring Mission is a course to help you explore how God is calling you to engage in intercultural mission.
It involves engaging with a wide range of issues in theology, mission, context, culture and the Gospel.
Exploring Mission is experienced as an online learning community that gathers from around the country and beyond, with a common heart to grow in their participation in God’s mission.
In 2025 we will be covering three units:
- Shaped for Mission: Practicing the ways that prepare you for mission
- A People from Every, Tribe, People and Language: Preparing for intercultural mission and discipleship
- The Story of God and His Mission: The missional message of the Bible
Each Unit has 5 sessions which run on consecutive Monday Nights from 7:30pm - 9:00pm (AEST/ AEDT).

Who is Exploring Mission for?
Exploring Mission is for anyone who wants to explore questions such as:
- What is God doing in the world?
- What is my role in God’s mission?
- What does intercultural mission in Australia look like?
- Where is God calling me now?
- How can I be trained and equipped for what God has for me in the future?
Exploring Mission is for people who want to understand and support global mission, for people considering becoming intercultural team members in the future, and for anyone who wants to better engage in intercultural ministry in their local neighbourhoods and suburbs.
Exploring Mission is facilitated by Baptist Mission Australia, the intercultural mission arm of the Australian Baptist church. These are the foundations for Baptist Mission Australia's ministry:
