Baptist Mission Australia is entering into a new partnership season with Peace Bridges Organisation (PBO) in Cambodia to support their Conflict Transformation and Family Reconciliation Initiative and we invite you to be a part of this story!

Partnership Context
After many years of conflict, there is still much healing to be done in Cambodia. Many marginalised communities continue to be impacted by structural and family violence, poverty, deforestation and other human rights abuses. And yet change is happening – and it’s occurring on the ground, in local communities and villages – led by local people trained in peacebuilding and conflict resolution.

Partnership Specifics
The locally led and run PBO team provides training in peace building and conflict resolution, aiming to reduce domestic and other forms of social violence. They begin with individuals and families and as they are reconciled, they become trainers of others. Local communities are also supported to address historic conflicts and learn new ways to deal with the issues confronting them.

The partnership support will focus on:
  • Supporting families and communities who suffer from forced eviction and deforestation
  • Engaging with men and women to work together to resolve community and family issues
  • Working with women to share their voices and experiences as they are the ones who not only disproportionately suffer from domestic violence but also from the impact of external community issues in this context
Partnership Outcomes
Over the past 20 years more than 4,000 people have been trained in community peacebuilding by PBO. We want to see community leaders (men, women and youth!) to become the change agents for their community issues.

We invite you to join us to support Khmer in their grassroots, community transformative initiatives, seeing individuals, families and communities transformed and reconciled.
