Scott looks ahead to a new year of minstry and partnership.
Welcome to 2021 and thank you for your ongoing support and partnership.
As you look ahead in this new year, I’m sure like me, you have hopes, dreams, goals for 2021. We step into a new year, following an unprecedented 2020, and under the Spirit’s leading there are always new opportunities to be seized, new territory to embrace, new possibilities to ponder.
At Global Interaction we’re excited to enter into 2021 launching our 2021-2025 Strategic Roadmap. [Here’s a
video link with more details that you can share in your church community.]
Hundreds of voices, from across Australia and the world, helped us discern God’s leading for our mission community’s future, which we have captured in the
Roadmap document.
As we look ahead, as a people of faith, what do we see?
“Vibrant faith communities following Jesus in their own distinctive ways.”
What an exciting, compelling picture! And it’s one we see being realised across the globe.
In some places, we’re well down the track; with many people coming to faith and local leaders championing Kingdom transformation in their local communities. In other places, we’re just beginning, with small numbers of first-time followers of Jesus coming together to be the forefront of shaping new faith movements, in places where the Good News is yet to take root.
We pursue this exiting vision through Spirit-led people, humbly contextualising the Good News in local communities and cultures around the globe - passionate, ordinary men and women who daily inspire me - as they flesh out the hope of Jesus in word and action. People like Daz & Bee in South East Asia, Cam & Kath in Mozambique and Mat and Shannon in our nation’s desert heart.
We walk alongside people inviting them to meet Jesus just as they are, without having to adopt the traditions and practices of the Western church. Like the Buddhist monk reading the Bible with an intercultural worker to the Muslim woman baptised in her hijab.
And we can only do what we do with the faithful, generous, sacrificial support of our partners, so thank you for sticking with us in 2021, and please can I encourage you to spread the word in your church, small group, friendship circle and invite others to join us in 2021. There are so many good, life-giving partnership opportunities.
Yes God is at work – even in the midst of a global pandemic - and in 2021, we embrace afresh, His gracious invitation to mission in neighbourhoods across the world, as well as at home as we partner with our Australian Baptist movement.
Please continue to all you can to support and promote our work, so we can keep coming alongside people around the globe, who otherwise may never hear the Good News in ways that make sense to them.
