Eliza and David share the story of their friend finding Jesus!
"Back in April a local friend ‘Honour’ contacted Eliza, pouring her heart about how difficult her life was. Eliza gave her a copy of the Bible in her language and promised that, if she looked for God, He would reveal Himself to her. 'Seek and you will find...' as Jesus says in Matthew 7:7.
In early August, Honour contacted Eliza to let her know what had happened - she sought God, she read the Bible and He opened her eyes to understand what is written inside. And the peace she had experienced as a result was life changing!
We were thrilled to hear more of the story the next day: that she had been reading the Bible to her children, that she understood her need for Jesus, that she had asked for forgiveness and joined the Kingdom! Oh, the tears of joy in our loungeroom that day.
Furthermore, Honour has been sharing this good news and her story with her relatives and friends, some of whom are interested and keen to hear more.
It’s now November, and her uncle and his children have accepted the good news! She shared the Gospel with a neighbour, who also accepted and together they have been reading the Bible. They’re already up to chapter 37 in Genesis!
We are just thrilled at this story and long to support and encourage Honour in this new journey.
So please join us on our knees for this precious family:
- Give thanks Honour received the Word “not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe” (1 Thess 2:13).
- Pray for God to grow her new faith to maturity and maintain her passion to share it wisely with those around her.
- Ask the Father to protect this new faith community. May it multiply. May He give us wisdom to know how to encourage, love and support Honour and her family.
- Pray also for Honour's physical needs. She has needed to move house twice in the past two months due to family challenges. Please pray for her financial stability and how she provides for her three teenage children."
