Scott Pilgrim shares an update about Lisa Cornish's expanding role.
I am delighted to share with you that
Pastor Lisa Cornish will be expanding her role responsibilities with Baptist Mission Australia, becoming
Church Relationship Manager for Western Australia, as well as South Australia & Northern Territory.
Lisa has done a wonderful job in her SA & NT role, strengthening relationships with churches, pastors and supporters and building Kingdom partnerships.
She has been very well received by all our stakeholders, and her pastoral strengths and friendly, caring approach have been regularly affirmed.
As you may be aware, Lisa has already been building connections, alongside Sally Pim, in WA this year, with encouraging feedback from Baptist Churches of Western Australia staff, pastors and supporters. Lisa is looking forward to building on these links as she steps into her broader role this month.
In deciding on the joint WA, SA & NT role we have valued several good conversations with WA Baptist Director of Ministries Victor Owuor and we appreciate that he has warmly welcomed Lisa's appointment.
Commenting on her WA appointment, Lisa writes:
I am thrilled to be formalising the WA role that I took on at the start of this year. I look forward to meeting with you and strengthening my relationships with churches, pastors, and supporters. I am excited to journey with you, supporting you as you partner with our WA intercultural team members in Mozambique, Malawi and Thailand and support other partnerships across the globe.
I look forward to walking alongside you as we work together to share the love of Jesus across the street and around the world. I will be in contact soon but if you are keen to get the conversation started, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and let’s have a chat. You can email me at lcornish@baptistmissionaustralia.org
Talk soon.
Blessings, Lisa
Lisa will make several trips to WA each year in her expanded role, including connecting with local churches and pastors. She will also attend key events like the WA Assembly, annual pastors’ retreat and Friends of Baptist Mission Australia gatherings. Additionally, she will have regular email and phone contact with pastors and mission representatives.
I will also continue to make visits to the west and am looking forward to being in Perth next month for our
Friends gathering on the weekend of our
Walk the World event.
In strengthening links with pastors and churches across the country we have also established a pastoral advisory group and it’s great to have Pastor Wayne Field as a valued, strategic voice from WA serving on this group.
Please join me in congratulating Lisa on her new appointment and praying for her as she steps into the role. It has been my privilege to serve alongside her in recent years and see her pastoral, collaborative and communication strengths in action. I know she will be a blessing to all of you as highly valued Baptist Mission Australia partners. Let me encourage you to be in touch with Lisa if she can be of assistance to you.
Thank you for sharing with us as we pursue our compelling vision: “As God restores the world, we see more people experiencing and expressing the transforming love and hope of Jesus.” We can only do what we do across the world with your valuable support, generosity and prayers! We are deeply appreciative of your partnership in the good news of Jesus.
Grace and peace
Scott
