Scott and Bek share some of the ways they are seeing God empower their Yawo friends.
This month has been busy for Scott and Bek in Mozambique!
Yet, in the midst of this busyness, they have seen the faithfulness of God in raising up new leaders and growing the curiosity and passion of the Yawo people they live alongside.
Scott and Bek write “It’s great to see the lives of individuals, families and communities transformed. Over the past year a number of local men attended farming workshops in another district. As they discussed their experience and learnings, they were keen to organise the same training in our area.
For a couple of days, local friends came together with some great Malawian and Mozambican trainers, to learn different ways of farming, hear personal testimonies of God’s impact in people’s lives, and connect with others who are also on a faith journey.
We are excited to support more times of learning and connection in the future.
While Sally has been in Australia this year, we’ve also been stand-in hosts for the Tuesday night youth gathering. It’s a fun night of food, games, teaching and connecting with those who attend.
Recently, some of the older youth have taken up the challenge of being more involved in the planning and leading of the night. They’re thrown themselves into organising games, coordinating large numbers of excited kids, sharing stories, performing dramatic re-enactments and offering heartfelt prayers.
It’s fantastic to see these young people lead together with faith, boldness and skill, and to see the younger ones respond so positively.
Please pray for these local men and youth who are growing in their understanding of God.
Pray that they would be strengthened in their faith and put their hope in Jesus, and that their lives would increasingly reflect God’s ways as they encourage one another in their faith.”
