Building Maintenance

Baptist Mission Australia’s Outback Australia team is looking for someone skilled in building maintenance. This is a part-time role, and it is envisioned that it would be between one and two months each year.

The Outback Australia team live and work in the Northern Territory communities of Kalkarindji, Lajamanu and Yuendumu, but there could also be building maintenance or consultation required in other areas.

What we’re looking for:

  • A love of God, a love of Indigenous people and a love of the bush
  • General hands-on building maintenance experience, including carpentry, painting, etc…
  • The ability to consult with the Team Leader in the planning of maintenance and upgrade projects
  • The ability to coordinate project delivery
  • The ability to manage contractors and/or volunteer teams or individuals
  • The ability to manage a safe working environment
  • The ability to think on the move and adapt to changing circumstances on the ground

This position may suit someone recently retired or someone who has the ability to take a month or two off each year. If this is you, then we would love to hear from you! If this is someone you know, please share this opportunity with them.
