Welcome Jenny Casey and Jason Hoet!
At our March Board meeting, two new Board members were appointed – Jenny Casey from NSW and Jason Hoet from South Australia.
We are looking forward to Jenny and Jason joining the Board, bringing their unique experience and skill set, along with their commitment to our mission community.
Rev Jenny Casey
Jenny is the Team Leader for Pastoral Affirmations for the Baptist Churches of NSW & ACT. She oversees the affirmation, recognition and accreditation of pastors and previously served as the secretary to the Assembly Council and pastor of Macquarie Fields, GraysPoint and Carlton-Kogarah Baptist Churches.
Jenny’s parents and grandparents both served with Baptist Mission Australia [ABMS as we were then] in South Asia. Jenny has rich memories of being a mission kid in South Asia in the 80s. She has maintained an interest in intercultural mission through working with SIM and championing mission in her pastoral roles.
Rev Jason Hoet
Jason is the lead pastor at Unley Park Baptist in Adelaide. Other roles Jason has held include Blackwood Hills Baptist pastor, Baptist Churches of South Australia President, 4D Strategy Facilitator, Youth Development Facilitator, Aboriginal relationships task group member and Tabor College lecturer.
He has served on the boards of Baptist Churches of SA and Baptist Care SA and is currently undertaking studies in Professional Supervision.
Interest in intercultural mission stemmed from being raised in a Māori-Anglo family where his parents pastored an Aboriginal church.
Jason has studied cross-cultural mission, started an international student outreach, supported First Nations and Iranian pastors and has championed Baptist Mission Australia for many years.
