Project Context
Baptist Mission Australia teams live in various communities in Outback Australia, Africa and Asia. At different times, the communities they live among face unexpected natural or humanitarian emergencies that can devastate communities. To practically respond during natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies impacting these local communities, the Community Relief Fund is set up and ready to go.

Project Specifics
In any community emergency, health and safety can be at risk. This project is designed to enable our intercultural team members to respond to these emergency times in their local community in a timely, appropriate and compassionate manner to minimise these risks.

The response may include, but is not limited to, providing safe access to water, food, sanitation and temporary relief accommodation. Natural disasters or humanitarian emergencies include but are not limited to floods, cyclones, earthquakes, avalanches, significant storms, tsunamis, unrest and instability following political or other motivated attacks or protests.
Longer term community rebuilding will take shape through other projects. This project is specifically for the emergency relief where needed.

Project Outcomes
We want to see whole of life transformation and through this project, this means being available and resourced to provide a prompt and in-situ response during a time of crisis in communities where there often is no welfare safety net. We want to reduce the vulnerability to health, safety and security risks among local communities during these challenging physical and emotional times.

Your financial support will ensure there is always an emergency fund available in the difficult times so that our intercultural team members are resourced to respond practically and with compassion.
